Duplicate Copy of Petition No Longer Required - (11/3/22)
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services has recently posted online that, as of August 11, 2022, it no longer requires petitioners to submit a duplicate copy of Form I-129 or a duplicate copy of supporting documentation unless specifically asked to do so. USCIS indicates "enhanced electronic scanning capabilities and data-sharing with the U.S. Department of State" no longer necessitate a duplicate copy be sent, which will in turn lessen delays in consular processing.
Petitioners should still be sure to retain a complete duplicate copy for their own records.
